Salisbury Big Business Event
Salisbury’s Big Business Event opens its doors on Monday 23 April 2012 at 11.30am. This three day event is completely free to attend and open to businesses of all sizes, including start-ups.
The event which takes place at the Guildhall in Salisbury has been organised by Salisbury City Council, Trethowans, Federation of Small Business, Salisbury City Centre Management, Blue Frontier and Salisbury Chamber of Commerce.
Claire Burden, Business Manager for Salisbury City Council said, “We are just putting the finishing touches to this event, the aim is to encourage businesses to attend who need help and advice from the experts, but may not be in a financial situation to afford the advice on offer or simply do not know how to move their business forward and need encouragement. Either way we have experts on hand over the three days who have tried and tested every formula out there and they are waiting to share their knowledge and advice.”
Over the three days the Guildhall will host over 20 information stands with expert advice from various sources including the banks, insurance, legal, marketing and more. There are also over 30 speakers each with their own unique story to tell and three networking events with time scales to suit all businesses.
Claire adds, “All the experts are not allowed to sell any of their services so there will be no sales pitches or hassle just free advice and the hope is businesses who often find these events daunting will feel more relaxed and able to chat to experts without the fear of parting with hard earned money.”
Simon Rhodes, Managing Partner for Trethowans said, “Trethowans is extremely proud to be the main sponsor of this event. On behalf of the organising committee, we are very grateful to all the experts and businesses who have already pledged their commitment to this event. I would encourage anyone in business to visit the Guildhall during the three days, to take advantage of all the free advice and information on offer. Please register online early for one of our free networking events too, as they are already proving to be very popular.”
The three networking begin on Monday 23 April with James Potter aka ‘The LinkedIn Man’ from 6pm with drinks and canapés and a seminar on how to get the most out of LinkedIn.
On Tuesday 24 April, Royal Bank of Scotland/NatWest Chairman for Small Medium Enterprise Peter Ibbetson and local entrepreneur and Managing Director of CLF Distribution, Robin Holiday will be taking part in a ‘Question Time’ panel on the future economy and how to get ahead of the competition.
Wednesday 25 April will be a breakfast networking event and seminar from Mike Southon aka ‘The Beermat Entrepreneur’ who will be helping you think creatively and be more effective at sales and selling yourself!
